Epoxy

Epoxy is an adhesive used for bonding concrete. Epoxy resins are used with concrete in the form of coatings, repair materials, grouts, bonding agents, paints, adhesives, epoxy mortars, sealers, penetrating sealers, wearing surfaces, and as admixtures to hydraulic cement concrete to make epoxy polymer-modified concrete.

Excavate

Dig or move dirt

Exit Strategy Meeting

Meeting held with the project team after the tilt panels are stood to discuss the most safe & efficient way to finish the project.

Expansion Joint

An expansion joint, or movement joint, is an assembly designed to hold parts together while safely absorbing temperature-induced expansion and contraction of building materials, and vibration, or to allow movement due to ground settlement or seismic activity.

Fiber Reinforced Concrete

A variant of concrete that is produced by adding fibers made of stainless steel, glass or carbon to the mixture.

Finishing

Operations like leveling, smoothing, compacting, and otherwise treating surfaces of fresh or recently placed concrete to produce the desired appearance and service

Forklift

Also known as a Lull; Typically we rent 6k, 10k, or 12k on projects

Form Boards

A temporary erected structure or mold for the support and containment of concrete during placement and while it is setting and gaining sufficient strength to be self-supporting.

Form Liner Panel

Ribbed or decorative area cast into a tilt panel

Front End Discharge Concrete Truck

Equipment: A concrete truck that discharges concrete from the front of the truck

Generator

Provides electricity with a gasoline motor

Grading

The leveling of the surface. Dirt from higher up is moved into the lower lying areas to create a nice level surface to serve as the foundation. Typically the grade must be given to us at a +/- 10th

Grout

A high-slump mixture of cement, aggregates, and water which can be poured or pumped into cavities in concrete for the purpose of embedding rebar, and/or increasing the amount of load-bearing material in a wall.

Gutter

Usually on the dock side of the building, used to control rain water run off from the roof.

Handrod Concrete Pour

The concrete pour where a laser screed is not used as a part of the finishing process.

HEPA Filter

High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter; These must be used on any vaccum to control silica

Honeycomb

Voids in concrete caused by the mortar not filling the spaces between the coarse aggregate particles. It usually becomes apparent when the formwork is stripped, revealing a rough and ‘stony’ concrete surface with air voids between the coarse aggregate, and often times caused by not vibrating concrete enough.
